Prior to mounting this coin was inspected by an expert numismatist specializing in ancient coinage and comes with a certificate of authenticity guaranteeing it is genuine and as described. The coin is a silver billon denier from the Principality of Achaea minted under the rule of Prince Guillaume De La Roche between 1280-1287AD. The coin features the Christian cross on the obverse along with a depiction of the Chatel Tournese (fortress) on the reverse. The pendant was 100% handmade in America by an expert jewler and is comprised of 14k yellow gold filled material. Gold filled is similar to solid gold in durability and look but at a fraction of the cost, while being vastly superior to gold plated material as is will not come off or change color over time
