Ancient Greek Athena and Eagle Coin In Sterling Silver Pendant
Prior to mounting, this coin was inspected by an expert numismatist specializing in the field of ancient coinage and comes with a certificate of authenticity guaranteeing its genuine. The coin is a bronze coin from the Greek colony of Phrygia, struck between 88-40BC in the city of Apameia. The coin features the beautiful portrait of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and strategy, wearing an Attic helmet. The reverse features an Eagle (representing Zeus) over two caps of the Dioscur. The Dioscuri were the mythological twin brothers, Castor and Pollux who were typically depicted wearing pileus (a brimless conical felt cap).
